Architects as Advocates: Strategies for Impactful Advocacy

May 21, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Presented by: Matthew Halpin, MBA, Kurt M Kalafsky AIA CSI and Stacey Ruhle Kliesch, AIA

In this AIA New Jersey Lunch and Learn, AIA NJ Executive Director Matthew Halpin, MBA, will explore the critical role of advocacy for the architectural profession. As the built environment increasingly intersects with public policy, architects must be equipped to educate and engage elected officials, advocate for the value of their work, and help shape the policies that impact our communities.

Through this session, AIA New Jersey encourages architects at all career stages to embrace civic engagement and become trusted voices on key issues. Participants will gain actionable insights to elevate their professional influence and contribute meaningfully to the future of the built environment.

For those who have considered becoming more involved in advocacy, but don’t know where to begin, this session will break down some basic steps you can take and give you the confidence to engage!
