DESCRIPTION:Reading Time:   2 minutesJoin Central New Jersey Tuesday\, September 24 from 12–1:30 PM for “Architecture and Land Use Law: Perfect Together\,” a 1.5 HSW-credit webinar exploring how land use rules shape architectural practice in New Jersey\, presented by Edward Purcell\, Partner at Price Meese Shulman & D’Arminio\, P.C. \nCourse Description (1.5 HSW Submitted) \nThis 1.5 hour seminar will give a thumbnail sketch of New Jersey land use law. The regulations that govern the practice of architecture require some familiarity with land use. This seminar will discuss the difference and interplay between construction permits\, zoning permits\, site plan approval\, subdivision approval and variance approval\, as well as some of the proofs that need to be shown for use and bulk variance approval. This seminar will also discuss the scope of what type of plans can\, per the applicable New Jersey regulations\, be created by an architect with respect to a land use application. Lastly\, this seminar will discuss some tips for architects to be successful expert witnesses in the land use context. \nRegistration \nZoom link will be provided by email within 3 days of the webinar. \nPresenter \nEdward Purcell is a partner at Price Meese Shulman & D’Arminio\, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of land use\, planning and telecommunications law and is knowledgeable in all areas of local zoning law\, and state development regulations including applications under the Highlands and Pinelands Preservation laws. Mr. Purcell has also lectured and written widely on areas related to telecommunications\, public rights-of-way\, land use and municipal law. He serves as a trustee of the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys and as an editor of the New Jersey Local Government Law Review. Mr. Purcell is also an editor of the Land Use Citator\, a yearly compilation of land use decisions published by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He also formerly served as a Director of the New Jersey State Bar Association Land Use Law Section. Mr. Purcell is 2nd Vice President of the Somerset County Bar Association\, serves as co-chair of the SCBA’s Land Use Section and coordinates its annual land use symposium. Previously\, Mr. Purcell served as Associate Counsel to the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.
